Johnny needs some airtime

I was thinking about how great it would be to see an adaptation for JTHM into a mini-series on HBO. Does anyone remember when HBO did Spawn? Now, I've heard that after Zim, Vasquez said he didn't want to do anymore shows, but I feel that the freedom of an uncensored channel like HBO and the limited number of shows (it shouldn't be much more than the comic was and shouldn't stray too much from it) would make for a quick, easy, and by far one of the most entertaining cartoons ever.

  • that would definately be brilliant!
    • speaking as an "artist"
i gess i can see how he mite not want to ree open an old project. doing that to often can get adictice , like picing at old scabs to try and make them heel "better".

once you can finaly get it closed and healed up, the last thing you want to do is re-enter into that muchy mire of obsesive deatail changing, and it can be even worse to see somone else tweek with your work.

i remender the first time a teacher took an eraser to one of my pieces, ... i'm not a voilent person by any means but i swer to god i nearly hit her, andi realy liked that teacher, if it had been a male teacher oand someone i didn't hold in high regard that shit could have goten ugly.

if thats not a problem for him though than i'd fuckin love to see a johnen cartoon wer they they just let him go compleatly nuts and do whatever he felt lke. or even wer they didn't, i meen look what hapend when they let gorge lookis do whatever he wanted, he fucking destroyed starwars.and now the dum mutherfucker has his his sites set on indiana jones, WER WILL THE MADNESS ENNNNNDDDDD!?

      • My understanding is that Vasquez doesn't want to do more TV because the work is a bit to high pace for him (and as anyone can tell from his prefaces, he seems to be up against the wall on a daily basis). I'm not that worried about his integrity in revisting work. Hell, its not even like he has nearly the fanbase as Starwars has.

Also, not to sound like a jerk, but Starbuck, your typing is horrible. I'm not sure I could write like that if I tried.
        • yes my typing is horible.
and yes you could if you tryed.

          that unplesantnes aside,

i didn't meen that he would mess it up, i just ment that somtimes as an "artist" it can be anoying to try and reework somthing that you had alredy labeled finished.
i gess that as a reel profetional artist he probubly has a lot more expirience at that than i would.

ya, i hope he dose it, but thats un fortunaly "from every rumer i've herd" not gona hapen.

i think that wile he dosn't have the same number of fans , and since they're all gothy and stuff they're probubly less likly to let themselfs gush about it publicly, but i think that his fan base is a lot more loyal than the starwars fans, not to menchin that they have infinitly more reason to trust his artistic integrity.

also i think that the nimber discrepency mite be in large part do to the fact that gorge lucis has done almost a dosen world wide promoted movies plus had his name on dozens of other movies and cartoons, wile mr.vasquez has only had one cartoon with only a medium add budget released in maybe 5 or 6 contrys and unless i'm mistaken he's never made any shity action figures.
now i know that we live in a capitalist society and ther for an artist is often mesured by the number of ther fans rather than the quality of iether ther fans or art but ... um ... i had a point. oh ya , FUCK GORGE LUCIS!
